What is Tech Prep?
Tech Prep is funded through the Carl D. Perkins Career Technical Education Act. Tech Prep is a school reform that allows lifelong learners to explore career options and encourages students to go beyond their high school education, in pursue of a technical career.
With the Tech Prep program, certain high school/ROP courses are available; this not only gives a student insight on a career but allows them to receive college credit for taking the course. It opens doors to what is out there in the workforce and the paths that they can take in pursuit a lifelong satisfying career.
Tech Prep is also available for adults who want to pursue a new technical career or advance in their current career. Southwestern College partners with the Sweetwater Union High School district and adult schools, allowing students to continue their education.
