When the shadows point toward Mecca. On November 29 at 1:09PM Pacific Standard Time all shadows will point directly toward Mecca. If it is night where you are at at that time then--too bad no shadows for you.

What is it?
Nighttime Lights of the World Maps of the nighttime illumination from the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC). Downloadable night-lights pictures for all years from 1992 through 2003, at a resolution of 1 pixel per km².:

Worldmapper is a collection of world maps, where territories are re-sized on each map according to the subject of interest. For the "Toy Imports" map the U.S. is huge and China is small. Whereas for "Toy Exports" the U.S. is miniscule and China is huge. Map categories include population, wealth, poverty, income, food, goods, education, transportation, communication, pollution, etc.

Analemma is a graphical device for determining the position of the sun relative to the earth. It takes into account the inclination of the earth and the elliptical or bit of the earth. For an explanation of how it is derived try with animations try: Analemma Explained.
