What do GE Plans, Transferable, Articulated, AA-AS Plan, CSU Plan, and IGETC mean?

GE Plans (General Education Plans): A breadth of coursework required of students seeking degrees in institutions of higher education that provides a comprehensive education and exposure to diverse fields of knowledge. The three plans most commonly followed by SWC students are: AA-AS Plan, CSU Plan, and IGETC Plan.

Transferable: A course at Southwestern College that counts as elective credit at the transfer institution.

Articulated: A course at Southwestern College that is acceptable in place of a course at the transfer institution.

AA-AS Plan: The general education requirements for the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees at Southwestern College. (Southwestern College Associate Degree (A.S. or A.A.) View AA-AS Plan pdf
