The Japanese program at SWC consists of the following three courses:

Beginning level:
Japanese 120 (5 unit)
May be taken in two semester (JPN 120A and JPN 120B)
Japanese 130 (5 unit) 

Intermediate level:
Japanese 220 (5 unit)

Students learn about the customs and values through communicative activities, films, music, Internet searches, presentations and group or paired activities in the classroom. Learning any foreign language will enable a person to pursue careers in teaching, interpreting, and translating, or work as a foreign service officer, research assistant, international business person, airline agent, immigration officer, customs official, television/radio or newspaper correspondent, business administrator, business manager, business owner, airline attendant, cruise ship officer, public relations specialist or banking representative.
