EBSCOhost Academic Premier offers information in many areas of academic study, such as social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences and ethnic studies. Academic Search™ Premier provides full text access for nearly 4,600 titles and expanded indexing & abstracts and PDF backfiles for more than 100 top scholarly academic journals, dating back to 1965 or the first issue published (whichever is more recent).

EBSCOhost Masterfile Premier contains full text access for 2,051 periodicals covering general reference, business, health, education, general science, multicultural issues and much more. This database also contains full text for 362 reference books, 84,606 biographies, 88,463 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps & flags.

ProQuest National Newspapers includes full-text access to:

San Diego Union-Tribune – 2000 to present.
New York Times -- most current 3 months.
Los Angeles Times -- 1986 to present.
Wall Street Journal -- 1986 to present.
Washington Post -- 1998 to present.

CQ Researcher provides full-text, detailed coverage of current social issues including background, a chronology, current trends, related topics and a bibliography for further research. Each week a new current issue is added to the database.

The library also has the print edition of CQ Researcher in the Reference Collection at HE 62 E35.

FACTS.com delivers more than 200,000 full next news articles from 1940 – present. It includes four separate databases:

  • World News Digest places events in historical perspective
  • Issues and Controversies explores controversial topics with statistical overviews, newspaper editorials, and primary documents
  • Today's Science covers latest developments in science, including background information and suggestions for further reading.
  • World Almanac Reference contains the World Almanac, Book of Facts, and the World Almanac Encyclopedia.

Proquest Historical Newspapers
This database offers full-text and full-image articles for newspapers dating back to the 19th century. For most titles, the collection includes digital reproductions of every page from every issue--cover to cover--in downloadable PDF® files. This ongoing project has already completed The New York Times® from 1851-2001 and the Los Angeles Times from 1881-1966.

Ethnic Newswatch
is a comprehensive full text database of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press. Continuously growing since 1991, Ethnic NewsWatch is now a collection of over 830,000 full-text articles from 240 publications.

The CINAHL database provides indexing for over 1,700 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 961,000 records dating back to 1982. Users also have instant access to full text for 449 journals indexed in CINAHL

EBSCO Nursing Journals

provides more than 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Coverage of nursing and allied health includes the Clinical Pharmacology database, providing access to up-to-date, concise and clinically relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs.

The ERIC database, the world's largest source of education information, contains more than one million abstracts of documents and journal articles on education research and practice.
