Yasmin Mossadeghi

Yasmin Mossadeghi is in her 4th year at Southwestern College as the Jaguars Head Softball Coach.  In the 2012 season the Jaguars had a 1st ever program playoff appearance landing the Jaguars #6 in southern California reaching regional round II playoffs ending with a 28-14 record. Prior to Southwestern, Yasmin has been the Associate Head Softball Coach for the past three years with Mount San Antonio College taking on the role of working with the outfielders, hitting, and coordinating the recruiting plan.  While at Mt. SAC the mounties won the State Championship in 2007 & 2009 and the SCC Conference in 2007 & 2008 compiling a 135-34 record and establishing a team batting average that was no lower than .377.   Coach Mossadeghi came to Mt. Sac after a two year coaching stint at UC Davis as an Assistant Softball Coach working with the outfielders, hitting, and recruiting as the Aggies made their transition from DII to DI.

In 2002 she managed for 2 years at her alma mater Cal State Fullerton where she went on to complete her Masters in Kinesiology with a focus on sport psychology and coaching.  After receiving her Bachelors in Kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton, Yasmin finished her career with a .367 batting average earning All-American honors and an invite to the US National Softball Team try-outs in Chula Vista.  Notching in the top ten in over ten offensive categories, Yasmin is presently the career homerun leader of CSF and the Big West (47).

At the conclusion of her collegiate career, Yasmin spent the summer in Germany coaching and playing for the Freising Grizzlies who became German National Champions in 2005.  In the summer 2006 she then went on to play in Russia for the club team Caroussel.
She is the author of the book "Between the Lines:  The Mental Skills of Hitting for Softball", which is an easy to read book to help players and coaches understand and learn to apply the mental game of hitting.

Dani Bishop

Dani Bishop enters her 3rd year as assistant softball coach for Southwestern College and will be overseeing the offense and defense. Bishop comes from La Sierra University in Riverside, CA. At La Sierra, Bishop was in charge of catchers, infielders, and hitting. She also assisted La Sierra in recruiting and in the transition from NCAA DIII to NAIA. Prior to La Sierra, Bishop was at Ayala High School where she was an assistant coach in 2007 and 2009. In those two seasons Bishop compiled a record of 49-6.  Bishop played for the UC Riverside Highlanders from 2003-2005. She saw time behind the plate as a catcher and as a designated hitter. Bishop left UC Riverside with a career 1.000 fielding percentage.

A 2003 graduate of Redlands Senior High School; Bishop was a four-year varsity letter winner in softball. She was captain from 2002- 2003 and held all Citrus Belt League honors in 2002 and 2003. Bishop was voted “Defensive Player of the Year” in 2000, 2001, and 2002 and “MVP” in 2003. She was also on the varsity tennis team from 2001-2003.

Bishop received her bachelor’s degree from UC Riverside in history in 2007 and her Master’s degree from California Baptist University in Kinesiology with an emphasis in sport management in 2009.

Jessica Vasser

Jessica Vasser enters her first year as assistant softball coach for Southwestern College and will be overseeing conditioning, defense, offense, and the catchers.  Vasser comes to us from UC Riverside as a four-year softball scholarship athlete where she played 1st base and catcher for the Highlanders and earned Big West Conference Player of the Week April 23, 2012.  She ended her career ranked among the Highlanders Division I career leaders in sac flies (1st), putouts (2nd), fielding percentage (2nd), walks (3rd), on base percentage (4th), batting average (7th), RBI (7th), slugging percentage (7th). 

Vasser graduated with a B.A. in History/Law and Society.
