Marie Vicario-Fisher
Professor of Environmental
and Hazardous Materials Management/Technology
Professional Summary
Ms. Vicario-Fisher is the professor responsible for the Environmental
and Hazardous Materials Management/Technology Program (the Program)
at Southwestern College. She has over 12 years of combined experience
in the fields of environmental engineering and environmental
education. As a full-time professor in the Program, she is
responsible for
teaching the majority of course work that is offered under the
Program’s
two areas of study (environmental management and occupational
safety and health). She is also responsible for promoting and
developing
the Program, and supporting students in the Program through mentoring
and internship placement.

Nick Vent
Adjunct Professor of Environmental and Hazardous Materials
Management/Technology
Professional Summary
Mr. Vent is a Supervising Environmental Health Specialist with
the San Diego County Environmental Health Department’s Hazardous
Materials Division (HMD). He is also an instructor for San Diego
County's Joint Hazardous Incident Response Team (HIRT) and most
of the Fire and Law agencies in the County of San Diego. He was
an analytical chemist for 10 years, Facility Manager and chemist
for a Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility in San Diego for
3 years, and has now been with the HMD for over 17 years, resolving
Emergency Response problems within San Diego County.

Ted Cudal
Adjunct Professor of Environmental

Professional Summary
Mr. Cudal has instructed and developed courses for San Diego
State University Defense Conversion Program, San Diego Gas & Electric
Company, San Diego Regional Environmental Business Assistance
Center in addition to Southwestern College. As an Environmental
Health
and Safety consultant, Mr. Cudal conducted Hazard Awareness and
First Responder training for the Environmental Protection Agency,
Region XIII. Mr. Cudal is experienced in providing, developing
and implementing proactive safety, health, emergency response,
and security
programs.

Carlos Bejar
Adjunct Professor of Environmental and Hazardous
Materials Management/Technology
Professional Summary
Mr. Bejar is the emergency Services Manager for the City
of Chula Vista Fire Department. He is in charge of implementing
and coordinating tasks associated with the office of Emergency
Services for the city. He is the founder and vice-president
of ESH Systems International, an emergency preparedness
and response software package. Mr. Bejar also works with
private health and safety training service providers in
the US and Mexico. He serves on a voluntary basis as Technical
Advisor and Instructor to the State of Baja Office of Disaster
Preparedness, and local Fire and Police Departments and
is also a volunteer to Baja’s Major Disaster Tactical
Response Team. He works closely with the Department of
Disaster Preparedness, The Secretariat of Health Services
and The Federal Secretariat of Environmental Affairs (PROFEPA).

Michael J. Huber
Adjunct
Professor of Environmental and Hazardous Materials Management/Technology Professional
Summary
Mr. Huber is the California Regional Environmental Coordinator
for Navy Region Southwest. In 1992, Michael began his
civil service career at NADEP North Island as an air quality
engineer and served at NAS/MCAS Miramar as the Waste
Management
Division Director from 1995-2000. He is a Certified
Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and has certificates in
Air Quality
Management and Hazardous Materials Management.
