Welcome to the School of Language and Literature!

The study of Languages and Literature, is the exploration and appreciation of the languages, cultures, creations, and ideas of great artists and thinkers. These myriad works offer insights that enable us to consider with more wisdom the choices that shape our world.

The School of Language and Literature has the following deparments English, English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL), Reading, and World Languages. Together they offer over 95 different courses to serve the distinct needs of the students.

The Department of English offers courses in Composition, Creative Writing, and Literature. The ESL program offers a three-semester sequence of courses in English-as-a-Second-Language, while the World Languages offerings include American Sign Language, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Filipino, Portuguese, and Spanish. The Reading department offers basic, intermediate, and college level reading classes and labs.
