EMT 109 EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDER 2 Units Grade Only. [Corequisite: EMT 101. Recommended Preparation: RDG 56 or the equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College Reading Assessment or equivalent.] Provides the first in the track for students interested in a career in emergency medical services. Covers national curriculum for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training. Includes basic and advanced first aid, care of patients with medical and traumatic emergencies, and emergency childbirth.
