Recommended Concurrent Enrollment: ESL 39E.] Offers second semester of ESL. Emphasizes accelerated language development of academic English for English language learners. Focuses on intensive practice in academic writing, critical thinking, and speaking around a single content-based theme as an intermediate-low level of English proficiency. [ND] [EFFECTIVE FALL 2014: DESCRIPTION. Second semester of Academic ESL. Provides instruction in grammar and academic language. Allows student to read non-fiction texts and produce paragraph-level writing that synthesizes information at an intermediate-low level of English proficiency.
