LOGIC AND CRITICAL THINKING

Grade only. [Prerequisite: ENGL 115 or equivalent. Recommended Preparation: RDG 56 or the equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College Reading Assessment or equivalent.] Develops the critical reading, writing, and reasoning skills necessary for both academic success and good citizenship. Introduces deductive and inductive reasoning and the logic of analysis, as well as the systematic study of fallacies in reasoning. Emphasizes the practical applications of logic in daily life. Includes analytical and argumentative writing exercises. [D; CSU; UC]
