MATH 101 COLLEGE ALGEBRA 3 Units [Prerequisite: MATH 70 or the equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College Mathematics Assessment or equivalent. Recommended Preparation: RDG 158 or the equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College Reading Assessment or equivalent.] Functions, relations, theory of equations and inequalities, matrices, binomial theorem, sequences, and series, and curve fitting using the graphing calculator. Emphasis on functions (algebraic and transcendental) and graphing. Graphing calculator is required. A student can earn a maximum of six units for successfully completing MATH 244 or both MATH 101 and 104. (Not open to students with credit in MATH 250 or the equivalent.) [D; CSU; UC]
