HIST 121 COMPARATIVE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAS I 3 Units [Recommended Preparation: RDG 158 or equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College Reading assessment or equivalent.] Covers the history of the Western Hemisphere from pre-Columbian times to 1825, with an emphasis on the diverse cultural roots of the Americas. Includes a study of the U.S. Constitution, emphasizing the interactions between the federal, state, and local governments within the federal context.
