ENGL 273 AFRICAN AMERICAN LITERATURE 3 Units [Recommended Preparation: ENGL 220 and 115, or Equivalent; or ENGL 116 or equivalent.] Surveys African American literature in all genres from the mid-eighteenth century to the present. Emphasizes the cultural, historical, and social contexts of African American oral and literary expression.
