ED 200 TEACHING AS A PROFESSION 3 Units [Recommended Preparation: ENGL 115 or the equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College English Assessment or equivalent.] Provides students the opportunity to explore teaching as a profession. Includes career exploration, foundations of education, and critical issues related to teaching in a contemporary K-12 setting. Examines California content standards and frameworks, as well as teacher performance standards. Requires a minimum of 45 hours of structured fieldwork in a diverse public school classroom under the supervision of a certificated teacher. (Same as ENGL 200.) [D; CSU; UC]
