Lifeguard Teaching Assistant Internship
A fundamental 6-week training program that provides participants the fundamental paddling/sailing and leadership skills to work with youth and adults in an outdoor boating and aquatic sport environment. Participants will be prepared to provide instructional and water safety support in the sports of surfing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboard.
Successful completion in the Internship and the required Lifeguard Training courses will provide necessary pre-requisites to work in an aquatic recreational environment, including the possibility of serving as a CCAC Lifeguard Teaching Assistant (LTA) as camp/program staff and SWC credit course teaching assistants.
CCAC staff instructs participants in the basic aquatic recreation skills while basic water safety and emergency response training is provided by Silver Strand State Beach Lifeguard personnel during six Saturdays and/or Sundays beginning in March.
This is a great way to become qualified as a Aquatic Recreation Assistant and eligible to become employed as a CCAC Lifeguard Teaching Assistant!
