Prerequisites
The vocational nursing program is three (3) semesters. Students may apply after completing the pre-requisite courses listed below. Completion of all of the pre-requisites usually takes 2-3 semesters.
Required Pre-requisite Courses:
- Anatomy/Physiology 4 units w/lab
- Principles of Child Development 3 units
- Nutrition 3 units
- College-level reading (Reading 56 or placement into Reading 158 on assessment test, Engl 116 or “proficiency” on assessment test)
- College-level math (Math 45 or higher)
- Nursing assistant training (CNA) or equivalent
Other Requirements for Acceptance:
- High School graduation in the U.S., GED or degree from a U.S. accredited college
- Completion of the Hepatitis B series of vaccinations or immunity
- Pass TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) with score of 60 or higher
- Complete Background check and drug screening as required
Upon Acceptance into the Program:
- CPR certification
