The Southwestern Community College Police Department prides itself on the collaborative relationships established with all faculty/staff, students and surrounding community members.
It is important that all crimes occurring on campus be reported immediately so that appropriate action can be taken. Southwestern College endorses a vigorous reporting policy and encourages victims and or witnesses to report all incidents, regardless of nature, to the College Police department. Incidents can be reported in person at the Police information booth at the entrance to the main campus or by phone (619 482-6380) or e-mail campuspolice@swccd.Edu
Fights, loud arguments, and other disturbances should be reported immediately.
Persons are encouraged to report any unlawful acts committed on campus by calling Police Dispatch at:

- By dialing *91 from any campus payphone
- By using the yellow emergency phones available in most parking lots or
- Report anonymously by calling at (619) 216-6691
Issues authorizing an officer to take rapid response include, but are not limited to:
- Suspicious persons loitering on campus
- Water leaks
- Poor or improper lighting
- Persons using drugs, alcohol or possessing weapons
- Animals left in vehicles
- Unattended minors
- Property Crimes
- Crimes Against Persons
- Traffic Accident
- Car Battery Jump-Starts
- Vehicle Lock-Out Services
- And Escorts On Campus
It is important that clear and accurate information be reported to ensure an immediate and proper response.
HIGHER EDUCATION CENTER AT SAN YSIDRO (HEC, SY)
The San Diego police department investigates crimes and provides police services to the HEC, SY dial 911 for emergency services. Please alert the center administrator at 690-6083 ext 3010 or the college police at the main campus art 619 482-6380 of all incidents and reports.
