Our Mission
Southwestern College, California State Parks and Recreation and California Boating and Waterways are committed to meeting the educational goals of its students in an environment that promotes intellectual growth and develops human potential.

Organizational Profile
The Crown Cove Aquatic Center (CCAC) is an off-campus center of Southwestern Community College District.  Nestled between the city of Coronado and the city of Imperial Beach at the Silver Strand State Beach, CCAC provides a wide range of educational and recreational aquatic activities to the surrounding communities.

The primary focus is to promote safe boating education and instruction through broad-based programs.

A unique partnership with California State Parks and the Department of Boating and Waterways allow CCAC to reach out to San Diego County residents as well as to the many visitors to the region by providing qualified instruction predominantly in the sports of Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Stand-up Paddling and Surfing.

In addition to SWC credit-courses (open to 9th grader and older), CCAC provides exceptional programs at an incredible value to youth groups via schools, clubs, churches, and other community-based organizations.  Day camps offered throughout the year are a highlight for the 7-to-17 year old population.

CCAC also provides public fee-based classes in many of the aquatic recreational sports.  Private lessons, group team building, open-paddling/equipment rentals with instruction are additional activities offered at Crown Cove!
