Student of Distinction Awards
Each year faculty, staff and administrators nominate outstanding Southwestern College students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership through campus or community involvement, and commitment to a goal or purpose.
Twenty students are selected each year for this prestigious award sponsored by the Southwestern College Foundation. Each receives a medal and $750 scholarship, awarded at the student awards ceremony in May.
Eligibility requirements:
- Must be a current SWC student enrolled in at least 6 units in Spring 2013 and have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 at SWC.
- Completion of 30 units at SWC over last 3 years (spring 2010-fall 2012)
- Proof of plans to transfer or graduate identified through a Student Education Plan (SEP).
- May not be a previous SODA recipient or have already received a bachelor's degree or higher.
