The study abroad experience includes the opportunity to earn units toward your academic degree or your four-year transfer goal, to develop foreign language skills, and programs designed to serve the needs of the working professional, and our growing number of retirees.

How can you participate in a Southwestern Community College District Study Abroad Program?
For semester Study Abroad programs students must have completed 12 units at an accredited educational institution, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Each program has a required cost depending on the site of the Study Abroad program, the length of stay, and the living arrangements that a student selects. Students generally must pay the cost of tuition, books, food, and other personal items in addition to the program cost.
Students can use financial aid to pay program costs and there are a number of scholarships available to students who choose to Study Abroad, please contact the Center for International Studies for more information on these funding opportunities.
Please contact Dr. Carla Kirkwood at the Center for International Studies (room 651 behind the SWC Bookstore) or contact the Center by email at IPGlobal@swccd.edu for more information.
