Student Life at SWC
At Southwestern College, you can meet new people and participate in student government. The Associated Student Organization, ASO, plans activities and events. You may choose to run for office or volunteer for a committee. You can join one of the clubs chartered by the ASO each year.
Don't miss out on campus-wide events held during "college hour" Thursdays at 11 a.m. it's your opportunity to hear famous speakers, view special performances and participate in public forums, many of which are held in the outdoor amphitheater adjacent to the Student Center.
HONORS AND HONOR SOCIETIES
Students with overall grade point averages of 3.5 or higher on all academic course work are awarded a gold tassel to wear at Commencement. Upon official certification of all academic course work, graduating students are eligible for diplomas and transcripts annotated "with honors".
Phi Theta Kappa
In 1989, the Alpha Pi Epsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for students in community colleges, was chartered at Southwestern College.
Psi Beta
Psi Beta is the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges.

COLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
Southwestern College student athletic teams achieve national and state conference rankings. Fitness training is offered through the School of Health, Physical Education and Athletics. The aquatics program offers sailing and kayaking and recreational leadership at the Crown Cove Aquatic Center, as well as swimming in our collegiate-competitive pool.
