The Southwestern College Concert Choir is presently in its 41st consecutive season. The ensemble, comprised of sixty-five singers includes members of the greater San Diego community, alumni of SWC as well as students currently seeking undergraduate degrees in music and liberal arts disciplines.

The repertoire programmed each season typically includes standard literature representative of the choral genre, choral/orchestral major works, and a variety of types and styles of contemporary choral compositions.

The choir’s performance highlights include a December 1997 collaboration with the Orquestra de Baja of Tijuana, Mexico for the premiere of Joseph Julian Gonzalez' Misa Azteca and two recent performances in March of 2000 at New York City’s renowned Carnegie Hall.

Under the direction of Dr. Terry Russell since 1988, the ensemble thrives on the breadth and depth of music to which they are exposed and the continual support of the Southwestern College Governing Board and its Superintendent /President Dr. Norma Hernandez Ph. D.

The Southwestern College Concert Choir is proud to be a participant in Music Celebration International's - American Celebration of Music in France 2003.
