MADRID May 26 - June 16, Summer 2007
A three week short-term study abroad program primarily focused on meeting the needs of staff, faculty and administrators-although some students may sign up as well as community members, friends and family members.

The base program price ($2,939.00) includes Airfare, shared bedroom in a two bedroom apartment (an additional $110 and you can have your room all to yourself), two day trips out of Madrid, a three week metro pass, cultural activities, and more.

Also included are 15 hours per week of instruction of Spanish Out There (Taught at the International House in Madrid where native speaking Madridleno Instructors spend an hour in the classroom each day, introducing students to specific vocabulary and then the class moves out into Madrid to apply what they have learned.).

There will be three levels of Spanish depending on program participants, which could include- beginning (these students will spend more time in the classroom learning language skills), intermediate and advanced levels. At the end of the three-week program the International House will issue a certificate of completion for the course.

There will also be a 2-unit Southwestern College course attached to this program that can be used for flex/hurdle credit for the educational incentive program at Southwestern College (this course is a non-transferable, credit/no credit course).

The program, if used for educational purposes and advancement, should be tax deductible, but confirm this with your tax consultant.

Deposits of $300.00 are due by Feb. 26, 2007, with the balance of the base program price due on March 18, 2007. April 27th a $150.00 refundable deposit (for the apartment, which will be returned after the trip is over) and the airport taxes and fees of $280.00 are due.
