Chris Bender, Southwestern College
(619) 482 – 6564

CHULA VISTA, CA – Southwestern College Superintendent/President Dr. Raj K. Chopra today congratulated Terri Valladolid (Seat 2), Norma Hernandez (Seat 4) and Tim Nader (Seat 5) on their election to the College’s Governing Board:

“Congratulations to our new and returning board members – we look forward to working together. This is a critical time for our College: a lack of State funding is forcing us to continue our cutting-edge programs with less support. We are innovating and succeeding but the College stands ready to partner with our new Board and continue putting students first.

“Board President Yolanda Salcido and Trustee Jorge Dominguez dedicated their time and energy to our students and the College is better for it. We are grateful for their service and wish them well in their future pursuits.”

The Governing Board plays a critical role in the growth and development of Southwestern College. Comprised of five elected members and one student member, the Board ensures that the District fulfills its responsibility to lead and serve its ever-changing communities.
